- This modification is being issued to post questions and answers that have come up during the solicitation period. 1. What is the load bearing weight for snow on these Quonset huts? - 30Lbs per square foot. 2. Is the Quonset huts being installed on the ground or on concrete piers or footings? - On asphalt paving, no footings or concrete foundations. 3. Is the roof of the Quonset hut expected to be cloth or metal? - Tarpaulin, have them read the spec. 4. Can the PVC powder coating be eliminated on the Personnel Swing Doors? It is extremely expensive. If not can the insulation in the door be something other than Polyurethane? - Yes as long as the door has a weather resistant exterior finish on both sides. They do need to be insulated with a type that will not become soaked and retain water if rained upon. 5. Can you explain where these are to be located? This is to determine the fastening system. - Also in the spec. They are to be located within the CIA for further clarification. The fastening system will be to cable the shelters to concrete jersey barriers supplied and installed by shipyard. These will be located in various positions along the perimeter of the interior of the structure. 6. Is there any electrical requirements for this scope of work? - No. 7. Is there any fire protection requirements for the Quonset huts other than NFPA, ie sprinkler, fire alarm, etc? - No. 8. Are door closers needed for the personnel doors? - No and not in the spec either.
