Description

PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE - Solicitation VA69D-12-B-0401 Project # 537-11-145 - Upgrade Normal Power Distribution System, Bldg. 1 Located at the Jesse Brown VA Hospital, 820 South Damen Avenue, Chicago Illinois The contractor is to supply labor, materials and equipment to install wiring, panels and other accessories for emergency power distribution for 10 floors of Bldg 1. The project consists of installation of cable risers and panels for the normal power system, Redirect any normal branch circuits installed in new building 1C to panels installed as part of this work, Paint and patch to match, Provide commissioning tests and checks. The project is located at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, 820 S. Damen Avenue, Chicago, IL 60612. Project # 537-11-139 - Upgrade Emergency Power Distribution System, Bldg. 1 Located at the Jesse Brown VA Hospital, 820 South Damen Avenue, Chicago Illinois. The contractor is to supply labor, materials and equipment to construct and install new electrical closest, conduits, wiring, panels and other accessories for distribution of normal power The project consists of installation of electrical risers, panels, transfer switches and generator controls and interlocks for the emergency power system; new underground duct bank crossing the loading dock, New raceways, Redirect emergency circuits installed in new building 1C to panels installed as part of this work, new structural elements for conduit risers, fire rated electrical riser closets complete with doors, hardware, sprinklers, fire alarm, panels, paint and patch, etc.; relocate any existing MEP obstruction above the ceiling in conflict with the proposed electrical closets, Relocation and replacement of the existing elevator controller, new structural elements for conduit systems, fire proofing, commissioning tests and checks, connections to new substation equipment in new Building 1C.The project is located at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, 820 S. Damen Avenue, Chicago, IL 60612. In accordance with Public Law 109-461, the Veterans Benefits, Healthcare and Information Technology Act of 2006, Pursuant to 38 USC 8127(d), competition is 100% Set-Aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business firms. The SDVOSB must be registered with and verified by the Center for Veterans Enterprise, (CVE), and verified in the following websites: http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov, http://ccr.gov, and http://orca.bpn.gov to be eligible for award. The solicitation will be issued on/about May 9, 2012 with the bid opening on/about June 8, 2012. Dissemination of the solicitation is limited to electronic medium. All interested Bidders (primes & subcontractors) should register at www.fedbizopps.gov so that others will know of your interest in participating in this procurement and for automatic receipt of updates or amendments. Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at www.fedbizopps.gov. By registering to "Receive Notification", you will be notified by e-mail of any new amendments that have been issued and posted. Bidders are reminded that they are responsible for obtaining and acknowledging all amendments to this solicitation prior to the time for receipt of offers. All requests for information are required to be in writing to the Contract Specialist at jeffrey.gerbensky@va.gov. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. Award is subject to the availability of funds. There will be a pre-bid walkthrough held for this project and all prospective bidders are encouraged to attend. Details of the pre-bid walkthrough will be included in the solicitation package. The project magnitude range is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 238210; size standard $14.0 million applies.
