- Description
- MODIFICATION TO PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE SOLICITATION VA261-12-R-0033, DESIGN OF OPERATION SUITE Following are questions with VA responses: Please clarify how many operating rooms are required to be open at all times during phased and sub-phased construction. RESPONSE - Number of rooms to remain open would be finalized with the Operating Rooms staff prior to beginning design. Would the VA be able to share the previously prepared volume/flow analysis prior to this submission, or, alternatively, would it be shared with the design teams selected for interview? RESPONSE - This information will not be shared at this point. It may be shared with those firms chosen for interviews. It was indicated that the volume/flow analysis determined that the OR suite is understaffed by 12. Is that for the current 8 OR/Procedure rooms or the projected 10 ORs expected for the final redesign? RESPONSE - Reference to being understaffed by 12 refers to operating the current 8 OR suites. Would the VA be able to share the previously prepared feasibility report prior to this submission, or, alternatively, would it be shared with the design teams selected for interview? RESPONSE - This information will not be shared at this point. It may be shared with those firms chosen for interviews. As this is primarily a remodeling/renovation project, is there a need/request for civil engineering design services? RESPONSE - There will not be a need for a Civil Engineer. Offerors do not need to include a Civil Engineer with the submission. Who did the feasibility study and Med Model simulation related to this project, and are they precluded from submitting on this solicitation? RESPONSE - Design Partnership performed the Med Model simulation. They are excluded from submitting as a Prime AE firm. Would you please confirm if relocation of the lab space is, or is not, part of the scope of work to make way for Phase 1? RESPONSE - Relocation of the lab space is not part of this work. However, demolition of the space in preparation for OR renovation is. Are the subcontracting goal percentages defined in the solicitation guidelines/recommendations/minimum requirements? Do those exact percentages need to be met for a large business to be considered for award? RESPONSE - Subcontracting percentages are goals. If a large business is chosen for award it will have to show, as part of the proposal, efforts made to achieve these goals.
