Description
FY2012 ALASKA WASTE RECYCLING SERVICES NUMBER: PR: 0040039542 POSTED DATE: 05/15/2012 SUBJECT:Continuation of Recycling Service for FWS Region 7. This announcement constitutes the only notice. This is not a request for quotes. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses must be received no later than Friday 18, 2012 by sending an e-mail to almeda_gaddis@fws.gov; however, any technical data received will be for the sole purpose of market research for future requirements. Under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), Fish & Wildlife Services, Region 7 Contracting and General Services intends to issue a sole source, firm-fixed price order to: COMPANY:Alaska Waste DUNS: 602440625 FOR :Continuation of Recycling Service for FWS Region 7 ON:05/21/2012 NAICS:562111 AUTHORITY:8.405-6(a)(2) Limited Sources Justification and Approval 13.106(b) Soliciting from a single source Determinations not to compete this proposed procurement were made because: The Government requires a non- interrupted service, the Contractor will be required to pick up recyclable material from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Region 7 Office Building located at 1011 E. Tudor Rd (including emptying bins at approx. 34 sites or about 110 bins) throughout the building, and transport the materials to the Anchorage Recycling Center weekly from July1, 2012- June 30, 2013 (est. 5 hrs/wk). Alaska Waste is not the only recycling company in Anchorage, however they are the only company that travels to office building and empty recycle bins that contain office paper, magazines, cardboard, plastic bottles, aluminum cans, and shredded paper. Pick-up requires keeping the recyclable materials appropriately separated for the Anchorage Recycling Center. Recyclable materials collected will include: misc. office paper, magazines, cardboard, plastic bottles, aluminum cans, and string shredded paper. Approximately 3-4 times a year, a general office cleanup will be conducted generating up to twice the normal weekly amount of materials. These extra materials would also be taken to the Anchorage Recycling Center. If possible, advance notice will be given to the contractor. Note: Pickup requires conforming with all security measures directed by the US Fish & Wildlife Service Security or law enforcement personnel at 1011 E. Tudor Rd. No interaction with building employees should be minimized, and no verbal abuse will be tolerated. This is a drug and smoke free building. a base year with four options periods with an anticipated award date of 05/21/2012.
