- The Department of Veterans Affairs National Acquisition Center, Hines, IL will be holding an informal exchange of information for Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) MANUFACTURERS/MAJOR DISTRIBUTORS of Incontinent Products (Brief, Overnight; Brief, Bariatric; Pull-Up Protective Underwear; Belted Undergarment; Incontinent Pads/Inserts/Liners and Diaper, Flat Fold on June 20, 2012 at the: Department of Veterans Affairs National Acquisition Center First Avenue, One Block North of Cermak Road Building 37 Hines, IL 60141 Each vendor will be given 30 minutes to present their product. Products must be currently on FSS Contract. There will be a question and answer period following the presentation. Please contact Adrienne Albachiara (adrienne.albachiara@va.gov) (708) 512-7383 to schedule your time slot no later than May 29, 2012. The Medical/Surgical Integrated Product Team (Med/Surg IPT) is seeking information on Incontinent Products (Brief, Overnight; Brief, Bariatric; Pull-Up Protective Underwear; Belted Undergarment; Incontinent Pads/Inserts/Liners and Diaper, Flat Fold for use in all Network medical facilities nationwide during this pre-solicitation conference. Thus, it is requested that only manufacturers/major distributors of Incontinent Products (Brief, Overnight; Brief, Bariatric; Pull-Up Protective Underwear; Belted Undergarment; Incontinent Pads/Inserts/Liners and Diaper, Flat Fold present at this conference and that they come prepared to address and demonstrate these clinical elements. The VA Med/Surg IPT recognizes there are several different types of Incontinent Products Brief, Overnight; Brief, Bariatric; Pull-Up Protective Underwear; Belted Undergarment; Incontinent Pads/Inserts/Liners and Diaper, Flat Fold available. Please reference as many as you like, but please make certain to clarify which product you are describing. Please provide concise, succinct answers to each question in electronic format. Supporting literature may also be provided, but is not a substitute for specific answers for the outlined questions. Please provide answers to each of the following questions as required. 1. Are your incontinent products latex free? 2. Do you have sizes medium, large and XL for your incontinent products? 3. Do your incontinent products have a wetness indicator? 4. How do you determine how well your product keeps the patients skin dry? 5. Do you have a standard procedure to perform absorbency evaluation? 6. What is your process for absorbency testing on your incontinent products? 7. How do you determine if your products meet community standards? 8. What type of form of testing is done to determine your product's absorbency? 9. Are test values/results available to customers? 10. What standard are you required to meet to market your incontinent products 11. Is absorbency testing a one-time or ongoing manufacturing quality control? 12. What differentiates your lower end vs. your higher quality incontinent products? 13. What is used to prevent the incontinent pad from coming apart or bunching? How is this measured? 14. What type of scientific data do you have to support your incontinent products absorption capacity? THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS, QUOTATIONS OR BIDS. THE VA IS NOT SEEKING PRICING OR OFFERS OF ANY KIND AT THIS TIME.
