Description
This is an RFI only. The Communications Electronic Warfare Engineering Team sponsored by the US Army RDECOM CERDEC, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD, is seeking sources to provide mitigation techniques, for co-located communications systems and electronic warfare (EW) systems. While several techniques have been successful in reducing EW and communication interference, they represent one class of deconfliction solutions. The Government intends to investigate all classes of deconfliction solutions and determine, through testing, the best solutions going forward. The purpose of this RFI is to identify existing vendor sources that have technology which can mitigate interoperability issues arising from collocated communication systems and electronic warfare systems. The mitigation system (by algorithm, protocol, techniques, or process) must maintain the full capability of the communications system and the full capability of the electronic warfare system when they are co-located on a vehicle. To deconflict the future communication and electronic warfare systems and maintain relevance of existing systems the Government believes an optimization algorithm or hardware/software process should be developed such that using the information received from the communication system and the available spectrum the future communications and electronic warfare system must jointly decide what deconfliction action is the most appropriate. The US Army RDECOM CERDEC Engineering Team's intent is to maintain relevancy of the present deployed communications equipment and present deployed electronic warfare equipment, without degrading either's performance by identifying technology approaches applicable for existing and future EW and communications system.
