Description
The Washington Homeland Security Roundtable (WHSR) today announced the creation of the WHSR / TSA Senior Executive Industry Forum, in collaboration with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The WHSR / TSA Senior Executive Industry Forum is designed to strengthen industry collaboration with TSA through multiple avenues. TSA Administrator John S. Pistole will address the initial meeting of the Forum on Tuesday, June 5. Following a dialogue with the Administrator, TSA senior leadership will participate in several panel discussions focusing on strategically important efforts, including: Risk Based Security; Budget and Acquisition Landscape; and Information Technology and Analysis. "Partnerships and industry engagement are important drivers of innovation at TSA," said Administrator Pistole. "Engaging with industry leaders through efforts such as this helps us achieve our goal of providing effective, efficient transportation security for all Americans." The event will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Transportation Systems Integration Facility located at Washington D.C. Ronald Reagan National Airport. Contact WHSR for details and registration at www.whsroundtable.org/TSAevent/. Space is limited and offered on a first come, first serve basis to both WHSR members and non-members. Registration opens at noon, Monday, May 21, 2012. "I believe TSA's participation in the WHSR / TSA Senior Executive Industry Forum will help us further our goal of developing a stronger, more productive relationship with industry," said Karen Shelton Waters, TSA Assistant Administrator for Acquisition. "WHSR strives to foster open dialogue and collaboration with DHS and its components," said Kay Olive, Director of WHSR. "We commend TSA on its unprecedented willingness to engage industry in this way and we are delighted to offer these forums." The June 5 meeting is the first in a series of planned industry meetings which will feature TSA participation. The WSHR/TSA Senior Executive Industry Forum will also host multiple focus groups to engage TSA leadership and other TSA liaisons. These groups will meet regularly to provide industry prospective and ideas on a range of transportation security topics. WHSR, founded in 2003, is a 501c(6) non-profit group of individuals from companies who are actively engaged in homeland security policies, practices, procedures, and procurements as a user or supplier of homeland security equipment or services.
