Description

This solicitation has been Set-Aside for Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VAMC) is soliciting bids under Solicitation Number VA-256-12-R-1044 for the following: This is a Design-Build solicitation and the contractor will provide all necessary architectural, mechanical, and electrical engineering/design to the existing Research Building 19 located at the VA Medical Center, 921 NE 13th Street, Oklahoma, OK. Applicable NAICS Code is 236220 Commercial and Institutional Building Construction with a small business size standard of $33.5 million. The magnitude of this project is between $500,000 to $1 million. This project will upgrade as needed the obsolete existing secondary electrical switchgear in the basement of the Research Building 19, and the secondary electrical distribution system throughout this building and the Animal Research Facility (ARF) directly to the north. The scope may include, but is not limited to, transformers, switchgear, distribution panel boards, branch circuit panel boards, breakers, conduit feeders and wiring. The design will also have provisions for future growth capabilities. A Bid Guarantee is required in an amount not less than 20 percent of the bid price but shall not exceed $3 million and must be submitted with the bid offer. Failure to furnish the required bid guarantee in the proper form and amount by the time of submission will require rejection of the bid in all cases except those listed in FAR 28.101-4, and may be cause for rejection even then. All Bonds for Federal Contractors must be registered on U.S. Treasury ™s website or they will be rejected. The website is: http:/www.fms.treas.gov/c570/c570.html#certified. Bidders must ensure their registrations are updated, correct and have not expired. DO NOT REQUEST INFORMATION REGARDING THE SOLICITATION. Solicitation package will be available approximately June 4, 2012. Solicitation and Amendments will be up loaded to FedBizOpps. Offerors are reminded that they are responsible for obtaining and acknowledging all amendments to this solicitation prior to the time for receipt of offers.
