- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. REQUESTS FOR A SOLICITATION WILL NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE. This synopsis is for informational and planning purposes and does not constitute a request for proposal and is not considered a commitment by the Government. This is a sources sought seeking information of potential firms (nationwide) that have an interest in submitting, as a prime contractor, a proposal for the following description: The requirement consists of providing Metal Powder Tungsten for use in ordinance (20,700 lbs in total). Performance would require prospective Contractors to provide samples for testing and evaluation prior to Contractor selection and contract award. After award, the performing Contractor shall provide scheduled deliveries of at least a minimum quantity of metal power tungsten (at least 3000 lbs for all but the final delivery, which may be less if the final remainder due is less than 3000 lbs), to meet the total required amount by completion of the contract. Deliveries shall be required to continue to meet the contracted standards throughout contract performance. Deliveries are to be made approximately every 3 weeks, for a maximum of 7 deliveries during contract performance. Place of Delivery: McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, McAlester, OK 74501, USA The Government requests that all interested and qualified firms respond to this sources sought notice with a capability statement similar to your marketing package used in the everyday course of doing business. Oral communications ARE NOT acceptable in response to this notice. The Government will utilize the following information in determining acquisition strategy: (1) summarize how your company is capable and qualified to fulfill this requirement; (2) summarize any projects completed similar to the project outlined above. The list of relevant projects may include names of the project team members and firm, point of contact (contracting officer and QAE/inspector) with titles, phone and fax numbers, project scope, and type of contract; (3) If Item is considered a Commercial Item in accordance with FAR 2.101 (4) A statement of your current business size status under the NAICS code 325188, "All other basic inorganic chemical manufacturing". In your response, indicate whether you are a HUBZone small business concern, service- disabled veteran-owned small business firm, 8(a) contractor, small business firm, women-owned small business firm, or large business firm. Responses to this Sources Sought shall be submitted in written format via e-mail to Kenneth.Clark@eglin.af.mil and Catherine.Gray@eglin.af.mil. Responses must be received not later than 06 June 2012 by 4:00 PM Central. This sources sought notice should not be construed in any manner to be an obligation to issue a contract, or result in any claim for reimbursement of costs for any effort respondents incur in responding to this request. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this survey or results of information submitted. This Sources Sought is an advance notice for information and planning purposes only and is not a solicitation. In order to receive an award from any resultant solicitation, if one is issued, the successful offeror must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) system.
