Description
The Contractor shall furnish all plant, labor, supplies, equipment, materials and transportation to perform all related work for Water Treatment Faciltiy (WTF) filtration system Inspection and Evaluation. Work will consist of filter media removal and disposal, conduct underdrain inspection, provide written inspection/evaluation report, and provide an estimate of needed repairs for water purification tank #4 underdrain system located at Fort Riley Kansas. The underdrain rehabilitation, if directed by the Government, will be processed as a separate contract action. Statement of Work PROJECT:Water Treatment Facility (WTF) Filtration System Inspection and Evaluation The Contractor shall furnish all plant, labor, supplies, equipment, materials and transportation to perform all related work for WTF filtration system Inspection and Evaluation. Work will consist of filter media removal and disposal, conduct underdrain inspection, provide written inspection/evaluation report, and provide an estimate of needed repairs for water purification tank #4 underdrain system located at Fort Riley Kansas. The underdrain rehabilitation, if directed by the Government, will be processed as a separate contract action. DESCRIPTION: FILTER MEDIA REMOVAL & DISPOSAL: Water purification tank #4 is an above ground water purification facility (21 feet wide x 23 feet long) consisting the following media filtering material: LayerMaterialEffective SizeDepthUniformity Coefficient TopAnthracite Coal0.8 to 0.9mm18 inches1.50 or less Mid-levelSand0.35 to 0.50mm12 inches1.50 or less Bottom layersSupport Gravel0.8 to 2.0mm2 inches to 1/8 in3 inches to in3 inches Bottom to in4 inches All media material is to be completely removed and disposed of in order to facilitate the inspection and evaluation of the underdrain system. Media removal is only possible by a truck mounted, industrial vacuum system with the capability to remove dry materials. As this is a municipal water system, vacuum system and related systems must be certified as sanitary prior to commencement of vacuum operations. Water purification tank # 4 is completely dry. DESCRIPTION: UNDERDRAIN INSPECTION: Inspect/Evaluate and prepare a written report as to the operational status of the Water Purification Tank #4 underdrain system. Report must include current system faults, current materials viability and projected system component failures at normal operational rates. DESCRIPTION: SUBMIT INSPECTION REPORT WTIH REPAIR ESTIMATE Design and construction diagrams available upon request
