Description

Sole Source J&A. The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a firm fixed price task order, under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-11-G-0001, with The Boeing Company of St. Louis, MO, in support of the F/A-18 and EA-18G aircraft. The effort shall incorporate MDR-80 Solid State Recorders (SSR) as a replacement for the V-1000, V-80, and V-82 analog recorders due to several obsolescence issues pertaining to the maintainability of the Hi 8 millimeter recorders and playback stations, to include the availability of the HI 8MM metal particle tapes to support the fleet. The contractor shall also provide solid state imagery recording capability and change the cockpit video recorder from an analog HI 8 millimeter to a solid state recorder and maintain the current performance/capabilities. This action is based on Title 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), whereby the supplies or services required are available from only one source, and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Boeing Company is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer, and supplier of the F/A-18 E/F and E/A-18G aircraft and is uniquely qualified to provide the complete range of program support required by the Fleet. The Boeing Company is the only known firm that possesses the technical data, resources, and expertise necessary to fulfill the Government's requirements.
