Description
NASA/KSC has a requirement for B-Dot and D-Dot sensors as follows: Common requirements for all components: Sensors, Baluns, and dielectric fixtures shall be design to work reliably outdoors for extended periods of time; Sensors, Baluns, and dielectric fixtures shall be immune to long term exposure to humidity, rain, sun light, salt spray, and regular day/night; temperature variation cycles as expected in a sub-tropical environment such as the Florida coast; Sensors, Baluns, and dielectric fixtures shall not exhibit corrosion, flaking, pealing, cracking, or water intrusion; Sensors shall have a warranty of at least a year after they are delivered; Each sensor shall fit in a volume of 4x4x16. Axial and Radial Free Field B-dot Sensors: Aeq(m^2): greater or equal to 1.00E-03; Freq Response: > 50 MHz; Risetime: < 4ns; Output connectors: SMA(m); Radial and Axial configurations; Max output peak: better than +/- 1kV; No cradle assembly required. QTY: 5 Axial, 8 Radial. Dielectric fixture for B-dot Sensors: Dielectric holding fixture to support sensor and Balun. QTY: 13. Free Field D-dot Sensors: Aeq(m^2): 1.00E-2; Freq Response: > 50 MHz; Risetime: < 4ns; Output connector: SMA(m); Made of 316SS passivated; Passivation shall be as per AMS 2700 or ASTM A 967; Certification of passivation shall be provided; Where welding is required, base metal shall be SS 316L; Max output peak: better than +/- 1kV. QTY: 2. Dielectric Holding fixture for D-dot Sensors: Dielectric holding fixture to support sensor and Balun. QTY: 2. Balun connectors: 50 Hz to 150 MHz, SMA (f) inputs; Type N(f) output connectors; Baluns shall mate with the sensors. QTY: 15. See attached specifications. This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to use the On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above or it may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=. The information required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred) no later than June 7, 2012 at 2:00 PM local time. It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site for the release of amendments (if any). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their own copy of this notice, the on-line RFQ and amendments (if any). NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
