Description
The FAA intends to solicit and award a firm-fixed price contract for the sterilization of Runway 4, Runway 22, and Runway 31 Runway Safety Areas (RSA) at Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport, Springfield, Illinois. The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, materials, and equipment to perform the project in accordance with the contract clauses, drawings, and specifications. Work shall include, but is not limited to: 1. Relocate RWY 4 Localizer (LOC) antenna to 1004'-7" from RWY 22 threshold including the construction of a new equipment shelter and parking area, relocation of antenna mast on new foundations, site work, power and signal cabling. 2. Remove and dispose of existing LOC equipment shelter. The facility has not been inspected for the presence of asbestos. A pre-demolition asbestos inspection is required in order to comply with FAA orders and federal NESHAPs regulation. Assume shelter contains asbestos and lead based paint. 3. Remove and dispose of transformer containing PCB's. Provide documentation for removal and disposal of all items containing PBC's. 4. Provide a complete list of Lockout/Tagout procedures. 5. Furnish and Install underground power and control cables for LOC. 6. Remove existing localizer access road and parking area. 7. Install buried cable markers along cable runs. 8. Relocate existing perimeter road. 9. Remove Runway 22 MTI reflector including foundation. 10. Remove three steady burning MALSR light bars at Sta.10. MALSR Station 10 will be relocated and replaced with new MG-30 LIR structures. Place and compact crushed aggregate surfacing around light bars to bring rock flush with foundation top. 11. Remove Runway 22 MALSR Stations 4 thru 8 and replace with new foundations, MG-20 LIR masts and crossbars on frangible connections. Place and compact crushed aggregate surfacing around light bars to bring rock flush with foundation top. 12. Place and compact crushed aggregate surfacing around MALSR Sta. 2 light bar to bring rock flush with foundation top. 13. Replace cables for MALSR stations 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and threshold lights. 14. Modify Runway 31 MALSR Stations 2 thru 8 LIR pole foundation supports to accept frangible bolts, and construct new splice cans. 15. Place and compact crushed aggregate surfacing around light bar to bring rock flush with foundation top. 16. Miscellaneous associated civil and electrical work. Contract performance time is 60 calendar days, with an anticipated start date of July 9, 2012. The estimated price range for this procurement is between $250,000 and $500,000. NAICS is 237990. INTERESTED FIRMS MUST HAVE SUCESSFULLY COMPLETED SIMILAR PROJECTS BOTH IN DOLLAR AMOUNT AND SCOPE OF WORK AT AN OPERATIONAL AIRPORT.
