- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, intends to negotiate on a Sole Source basis a Fixed Price contract with X-COM, Inc., 12345-B Sunrise Valley Drive, Reston, VA 20191. This requirement, for various switching components, will consist of: 2 each MPS-32 Units, 15 each MPS Multi Unit CPUs, 2 each XPS-32 Units, 5 each XPS Multi Unit CPUs, 8 each Type A CMS (UYK-7 85 pin), and 8 each Type B CMS (UYK-7 85 pin). These items will support existing X-COM switching hardware including various parallel and serial switches, parallel and serial fiber optic interface extenders for the Naval Tactical Data Systems (NTDS) electrical interfaces used in support of the Aegis Combat System at specified land based test sites. This hardware must be procured from X-COM in order to support interchangeability with the existing in-line hardware components at the various sites. Ongoing support for these systems requires highly specialized and proprietary components / Lowest Replaceable Units (LRU ™s) are not available from any other source. These components are LRUs which will support existing switching, multiplexing, and conversion hardware installed at Land Based Test Sites (LBTS), such as the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC), Aegis Training and Readiness Center (ATRC), and Integrated Warfare Systems Laboratory (IWSL). Interested parties other than X-COM must be able to demonstrate, in writing, their capability to provide the necessary items and that the hardware will support interchangeability with the existing in-line hardware components at the various sites. It is anticipated that this solicitation will be posted on 29 June 2012. The anticipated closing date will be 31 August 2012. This solicitation is a follow-on to Contract N00178-06-D-2002 with X-COM, Inc. The solicitation number is N00178-12-R-2008. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 334419.
