- Synopsis: Sources Sought No. AP21B0-2131-2054 Project Title: Vacuum Furnace, for the Corpus Christi Army Depot, Corpus Christi, Texas. Corpus Christi Army Depot, Corpus Christi, Texas has a requirement for the above subject. This is not a Solicitation Announcement and is not a Request for Proposals; THERE WILL NOT BE A SOLICITATION, SPECIFICATIONS, OR DRAWINGS AVAILABLE; and does not obligate the Government to any contract award. The purpose of this Sources Sought synopsis is to determine interest and capability of potential qualified Small Business Administration (SBA) certified: 8(a), Hubzone, and Service Disabled Veteran-Owned firms relative to the North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) 333994(Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction). The Small Business Size Standard is 500 employees. The Government will use responses to this sources sought synopsis to make an appropriate acquisition decision about soliciting this project as either a competitive Set-Aside for Service Disabled-Veteran Owned firms, 8(a) firms, or HubZone firms; or to proceed with full and open competition as Unrestricted. NAICS Code 333994- Vacuum furnace: To be considered small for purpose of Government procurement, a firm must perform at least 50 percent of the volume of the Manufacturing with its own equipment or another small Manufacturing concern. Award of a Firm Fixed Price Contract consisting of Furnishing and Installing and training is anticipated. Work will be performed within the area of jurisdiction of the Corpus Christi Army Depot, Corpus Christi, Texas PROJECT INFORMATION: The Scope of Work involves the Furnish, Installation, and Training of Vacuum Furnace. The Vacuum Furnace is required to support the workload of the Heat Treat Shop which services Engines, Tool & Die, Sheet Metal Manufacturing, Machine Manufacturing Shops, and Jigs and Fixtures. The Vacuum Furnace is needed to perform nickel brazing, sintering, vane diffusion, heat treating, stress relieve, and annealing at temperatures up to 2,200 F and then quickly cool the treated metal back to non-metallurgical levels (below 400 F) after the desired process in the furnace. The shapes and size of the different components requiring treatment will vary, but the minimum required work zone must be at least 48" long x 36" wide x 36" high. The components treated in the furnace may be composed of different materials, but the most common metals processed in the furnace will be stainless steel (410 and 17-4PH), tool steel (D2 and D3), and Inconel. This machine specification establishes the minimum requirements for a turn-key design, manufacture, assembly, operation, construction, delivery, installation, documentation, training, and acceptance testing of a Vacuum Furnace used to vacuum heat treats helicopter aircraft components and accessories to be installed and used at Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) at Corpus Christi, TX. (SEE ATTACHED STATEMENT OF WORK) The following information is required: 1. Name of firm with address, phone, fax, e-mail address, and point of contact. 2. State if your firm is a Small Business Administration (SBA) certified 8(a) or Hubzone, or if it is Service Disabled Veteran-Owned. Proof of SBA certification/documentation shall be provided with this response. 3. Provide a letter from your surety identifying single contract bonding limit and aggregate contract bonding capability. 4. Please indicate whether your firm will submit a bid for this project if this project is set-aside for certified 8(a), Hubzone, or Service Disabled Veteran-Owned small business. 5. Qualifications: Responses to this sources sought synopsis shall indicate specialized experience in hopper, pipeline and mechanical dredging. 6. Firms submitting responses shall present their information in a matrix format showing relevant contracts that they have performed which are similar in scope. The matrix shall show the most recent, up to five contracts, that prove you can meet each qualification criteria listed above. Include project number, project location, description of work requirements, point of contact and phone number for each effort.
