SIGNS SEE DESCRIPTION BELOW - SMALL BUSINESS SET A SIDE QUANITITY 510 EACH MANUFACTURER MUST PROVIDE SAMPLE FOR APPROVAL QUESTIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY JUNE 8, 2012 QUOTES MUST BE RECEIVED BY JUNE 14, 2012 SPECIFICATIONS FOR ADA SIGNAGE REMOVE EXISTING SIGNAGE AT REPLACEMENT LOCATIONS AND REPAIR/PREP AREA AND RESTORE TO EXISTING WALL SURFACE FINISHES AT ALL LOCATIONS. CONTRACTOR WILL PROVIDE MATERIALS AND LABOR TO MEET ALL SPECIFICATIONS DEFINED. Etched magnesium sign systems - tactile and Braille signage for the visually impaired- designed to comply with the regulations set forth in the Americans with Disabilities Act. A. ADA one-piece construction sign utilizing etched magnesium process to produce raised numbers and letters with corresponding Grade II Braille, on magnesium alloy sign, all complying with ADA and CABO/A117,1 requirement. B. Sign size should be 8" high x 11" wide- arch top; 1" letters; " raised Braille; 2.5" interchangeable copy area. (see attached drawing specifications) C. Color Steel Blue Background and white lettering D. Adhesives: Pressure sensitive adhesive or high grade industrial silicone adhesive as recommended by the adhesive manufacturer for the substrates shown. E. Prominent mechanical fasteners are not recommended due to potential injury or confusion to the visually impaired individual. F. Mechanical Fasteners: Countersunk holes, concealed and/or tamperproof screws, washers, and toggles may be used in securing holders to substrate. INSTALL - Mount signs level and plumb with recommended adhesive to substrates at locations and heights to comply with ADA, section 4.30.6. Secure sign holders to substrates with concealed fasteners. Remove adhesives from exposed sign surfaces. All Contractor employees shall obtain the required employee and vehicle passes. Prior to the start of the contract, submit to the CO an estimate of the number of personnel expected to be utilized at any one time on the contract. The Government will issue badges without charge. Each employee shall wear the Government issued badge over the front of the outer clothing. When an employee leaves the Contractor's service, the employee's pass and badge shall be returned within 3 calendar days.
