Description
The Defense Logistics Agency Contracting Services Office-Battle Creek has a brand name requirement for Symantec Backup Exec Software and Maintenance. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ) SP4707-12-Q-0052. Place of performance is Battle Creek, Michigan. Inspection, acceptance and F.O.B. are at destination, Battle Creek, Michigan. This is a total small business set aside. This requirement falls under NAICS code 511210 and the size standard $25,000,000 will be used. The single evaluation factor for award is lowest-price, technically acceptable. The resulting contract or order will be firm-fixed price. This requirement is being offered on a brand name only basis. In order to be considered technically acceptable, vendors must offer the exact product described below. Offerors shall provide a price for each contract line item number (CLIN) in their quote. Offers with quantities of less than requested or products that differ from those requested will be deemed technically unacceptable. DLA Disposition Services field sites currently use Symantec's Backup Exec to backup and maintain data in support of DLA's mission. The software is required to have an annual maintenance agreement to support updates, patches, and support for DLA to use this product. The required software is necessary because of the critical roles it fulfills. The software allows DLA Logistics Information Services to keep current with backup software. Only Symantec can provide this software which fits seamlessly into the current environment. The following clauses/provisions are hereby incorporated by reference.
