Description
Under solicitation number W52P1J-12-R-0070, the Sources Sought Synopsis of the planned sole source follow-on contract for the Non-Stockpile chemical Materiel (NSCM) Overarching Research and Evaluation Program (OREP) support was posted on 20 Jan 2012 on the Federal Business Opportunities website (FedBizOpps). It requested any interested parties provide their interest, by 21 Feb 2012, in the NSCM OREP support, with a description of their capabilities and experiences, as it applied to the noted statement of work (SOW) requirements. One timely response was received and evaluated for technical/management capabilities and experiences, primarily in performing multiple evaluations/engineering studies on various technologies, involving both commercial vendors and government laboratories, that may be potentially suitable for analyzing or treating chemical warfare materiel in an environmentally acceptable manner. Based on this evaluation and analysis, the Government has decided to continue with the planning of the sole source follow-on contract action in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. The evaluation determined that this planned follow-on contract will allow NSCM to retain these unique and/or highly specialized scientific, technical, and/or engineering services in supporting of its OREP requirements for its ongoing and future missions/activities without a disruption to or loss of quality of these services. As noted in the Sources Sought Synopsis, the contractor affected by this is Shaw Environmental, Inc. Stoughton, MA.
