- Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board Thrift Savings Plan Industry Courtesy Visits The Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board (FRTIB or Agency) is an independent Federal agency in the Executive Branch that administers the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP). The TSP is a retirement savings plan for Federal employees; it is similar to the 401(k) plans offered by many private employers. As of April 2012, TSP assets totaled approximately $313 billion, and retirement savings accounts were being maintained for roughly 4.5 million TSP participants. Participants include Federal civilian employees in all branches of Government, employees of the U.S. Postal Service, and members of the uniformed services. Additional information can be found at www.tsp.gov. The FRTIB plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to acquire Technical and Enterprise Support Services (TESS). The purpose of the TESS acquisition is to competitively select a company to provide a broad range of information technology (IT) support services, including Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) record keeping support, in accordance with the Agency's responsibility to administer the TSP. The draft schedule for the TESS acquisition is as follows: June-August 2012 Industry courtesy visits September 2012 Industry Awareness Conference December 2012 Issue the TESS Request for Proposal (RFP) January - September 2013 Contract Award As part of its market research efforts, the FRTIB plans to conduct courtesy visits with potential offerors beginning in June, 2012.
