- RFQ STATEMENT OF NEED This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice and in accordance with the simplified acquisition procedures authorized in FAR Part 13. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The office of NOAA Southwest Fisheries Science Center located in La Jolla, CA has a requirement for a series of underwater connectors (and caps) for these components. All connectors must be made of high quality materials, include 26 pins/wires, and be waterproof to 300 m. These connectors MUST mate to the MHDM-26 series produced by Impulse Teledyne, as these connectors were used in the building and testing of the prototype, and we already have significant equipment/funds dedicated to this specific series of connectors. Several different styles of connectors are required, and these are outlined in the technical specifications. Some of the connectors must be molded onto cable (specifications included) with Kevlar termination. The entire solicitation is attached. All quotations must be FOB destination NOAA, Southwest Fisheries Science Center, 3333 N. Torrey Pines Court Southwest Fisheries, La Jolla, CA 92037. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) of this procurement is 334417 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. The government intends to issue a firm fixed price contract with required delivery date of no later than Oct 20, 2012. All interested parties must respond to this announcement within fifteen (15) calendar days of its publication.
