- Transmission Line Inspection Tool This is a sources sought and request for information (RFI) notice for Western Area Power Administration (Western) in attempt to identify commercially available solutions. There is no solicitation at this time. This synopsis is being issued by Western for the sole purpose of conducting Market Research in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 10. All responses will be used to determine the appropriate acquisition strategy for a possible future acquisition. No Award will be made from this sources sought. Western is not seek proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Western is soliciting the business sector in search of a commercially available transmission line inspection tools or 'solutions'. This solution is expected to automate collection activities, using portable devices to collect and store inspection data in the field for both ground and aerial inspection patrols. The commercial solution targeted by this RFI shall meet the requirement outlined in attached document. At this time it is not known if a solicitation will follow this notice. The goal is to learn what products are commercially available. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 511210 and the small business size standard is $25 million. All interested and qualified sources should notify this office by electronic mail. Please provide the following information: Company's name, address, point of contact, email address, cage code, web site (if applicable), experience and overview of your company, business size IAW NAICS 511210, any Small Business socioeconomic status (if applicable), and a desription of capabilities and limitations based on the requirements in attached document. Please limit your product information to 3-5 pages. Be advised the government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this sources sought. All costs associated with this sources sought will be solely at the expense of the respondents. Additionally, all submissions become government property and will not be returned. No basis for a claim against the government shall arise as a result from a response to this sources sought.
