- Description
- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Research and Development (ORD), has a requirement for contractor supplied laboratory testing and analysis services in support of the National Center for Computational Toxicology (NCCT), Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. The contractor will provide Microelectronic Monitoring of Cellular Status services. The EPA is interested in using microelectronic monitoring of cells in culture to measure altered cellular physiology/pathology in response to exposure to potential environmental toxicants. Use of this approach may provide a sensitive measure of changes in cellular physiology that may correlate with toxic activities of test compounds. These results will be used in the ToxCast Project for prioritizing compounds for more in-depth toxicological evaluation. Use of physiologically relevant cells (lines) is desired, including cells with phase I and phase II metabolic capabilities as well as primary cells. The C ontractor shall use a microelectronic cell monitoring system to measure the response of one or more rodent or human cells types to compounds from the ToxCast library supplied by the EPA. The EPA will provide compounds at a minimum of 10 samples and a maximum of 1000 samples per task order. EPA anticipates the award of an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity, firm-fixed price, Task Order contract with an ordering period of five-years. The applicable NAICS code is 541711, with a small business size standard of 500 employees. This is a total small business set-aside. A draft copy of the performance work statement (PWS) is posted on website: http://www.epa.gov/oam/rtp_cmd/index.htm#solam. Any supporting documentation and/or relevant information (if applicable) concerning this procurement will be posted on Fedbizopps.gov and EPA?s website at: http://www.epa.gov/oam/rtp_cmd/index.htm#solam. The Request for Proposal (RFP) is expected to be issued on or about September 2012. Proposals will be due approximately 30 days after issuance of the RFP and it will be your responsibility to frequently check the same site where the RFP is posted for any amendments. Questions are to be submitted in writing to David Murphy, Contracting Officer, at Murphy.david@epa.gov.
