- Description
- The contract will be structured using incremental funding. The overall work will involve the placement of beachfill on Brigantine Island, New Jersey beaches from the Brigantine Inlet borrow area, and the placement of beachfill on Ocean City, New Jersey beaches from the Great Egg Harbor Inlet area. Specifically, the contractor will conduct pre-placement condition surveys and place 350,000 cubic yards of sand on the beaches of Brigantine from 1000' North of 14 th Street North to 14 th Street South. Three (3) quantity options of 25,000 cubic yards, 50,000 cubic yards and 75,000 cubic yards will be included to place more sand within and outside of the base bid area depending on bid prices received and sand need. Options will also be included for the construction or repair of pedestrian, vehicle, and handicap dune crossovers; planting dune grass; and installation of sand fence. For Ocean City, the contractor will conduct pre-placement condition surveys and place 1,000,000 cubic yards of sand on the beaches of Ocean City from the groin at Seaview Road to 14 th Street. Three (3) quantity options of 200,000 cubic yards each will be included to place more sand depending on bid prices received and sand need. Options will also be included for the repair of seven (7) outfalls. Solicitation Number W912BU-12-B-0012 will be issued on or about 20 July 2012 with bid opening date of 21 August 2012 at 11:00 a.m. All work and services under this project (including all options) shall be completed no later than 1 March 2013. Estimated cost range of the project is over $10,000,000.00 including options. The NAICS code for this project is 237990 (SIC 1629) with a size standard is $20.0 million. Solicitation documents, plans and specifications will only be available via the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) homepage located at https://www.fbo.gov/. Registration for plans and specifications should be made via FBO Internet homepage and hard copies will not be available. No written or fax requests will be accepted. It is the contractor's responsibility to monitor FBO for any amendments. Also, contractors who receive a federal contract of $100,000.00 are required by legislation (FAR 22.1310(b)) to submit an annual VETS-100 Report on your employment of targeted veterans. Information on submitting your report may be obtained by calling 1-703-461-2460 or by accessing the following Internet website: http://www.vets100.com. All contractors must be registered in the DODs Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database as required by DFARS 204.7300. Davis Bacon rates will be applicable to the construction and bonding is required. Please review all bonds and accompanying documents required to be submitted. Affirmative action to insure equal employment opportunity is applicable to the resulting contract. Liquidated damages will be specified. Award will be made as a whole to one bidder. This procurement is advertised as Unrestricted.
