Description
QUESTIONS 1) In reference to delivery of the vessel, if we are able to offer a quote, we would need to know where the vessel is to be delivered. This information needs to be pinned down because the cost of placement of the vessel can be so unpredictable. Also, the cost of long range delivery above (North on the Mississippi River) Vicksburg, MS could use up all the profit in the contract because of being a small business. Please let us know where we are to deliver the vessel so we can prorate the cost into our unit rate quote if needed. Knowing the delivery point of the vessel will save the Government resources. Response: Based on the current schedule, the most likely delivery location is Cairo, IL mile 958. Schedule is always subject to change and delivery could be required anywhere on the Lower Mississippi River. 2) How many days does the Government guarantee on the contract and what is the estimated amount of (on the job) days of the work? We need this information in order to arrange work for the vessel when the job is completed. Response: The River heavily influences the revetment schedule and has the ability to stop all revetment activities with short notice. No number of days can be guaranteed. Based on the historical low water river stage information approximately 120+ days is anticipated. Funding is currently available for 190+ days if conditions remain favorable. Low water and high water both have the ability to stop production. Short interruptions are of little concern but if the revetment season is ended early the contract vessel would likely return to Vicksburg with the Unit and be released.
