- The U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Harpers Ferry Center, is soliciting proposals to provide department-wide contracts to establish nationwide services for Interpretive Planning Services (IPS). Interpretive planning is a goal-driven process which, in its implementation, achieves management objectives for interpretation and education by facilitating visitor understanding and appreciation of the resources, which contributes to protection, preservation, and stewardship of those resources; is a focused process in which a skilled facilitator engages park staff and stakeholders in the articulation of park meanings and values; and is a strategic process which analyzes the park's interpretive needs, guides the park in articulating overall vision and long term planning goals, and creates a range of desired visitor experiences through the development of short- and long-term recommendations for media, services, and programs.Projects range from small exhibits at specific sites to major museum installations. Target ranges for IPS will be included in each individual task order and will vary depending on the complexity of each individual project. A specific scope of work will accompany each task order. The government anticipates award of up to four Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contracts. These contracts will be issued for a one-year period with priced options for four additional years of continued performance. The minimum workload is $2,000 per year. The maximum workload is $75,000 per year The solicitation will be available via Electronic Commerce on or about July 20, 2012. NO PAPER COPIES OF THE SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSUED.
