- NASA/KSC has a requirement for On-Site Composite Aerospace Repair Analysis & Substantiation Training. All vendors must meet these requirements: 1.Vendor must be knowledgeable in advanced composite training. 2.Vendor must offer on-site training course that provide both class room instruction and a hands-on fabrication component. 3.Vendor must have courses that build upon each other (continuation of instruction). 4. Vendor must meet FAA guidelines for composite inspection training and have experience in teaching per FAA guidelines and standards for composite systems and repairs. 5.Vendor must provide a composite repair course that is applicable to the aerospace composite structures. 6.Vendor should have skilled instructors that have extensive knowledge in composite repair of aerospace structures and have worked towards or is working towards a standard repair curriculum for a certified repair technician course. 7.Vendor repair course must cover repair analysis techniques, repair substantiation, adhesive bonding, and strength and stiffness analysis for parent structure and the repair patch; course should also discuss effects of impact damage of the parent structure, co-cured and pre-cured techniques for wet lay and pre-preg repairs. 8.Vendor must provide the repair analysis software which shall be included with course material. The Specifications & RFQ are linked above or may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin= This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to use the On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above or it may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=. The information required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred) no later than July 23rd, 2012.Prospective quoters shall notify this office of their intent to submit a quotation to Christopher.zuber@nasa.gov. It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site for the release of amendments (if any). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their own copy of this notice, the on-line RFQ and amendments (if any). NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
