Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation or request for quotes and no contract or purchase order will be awarded from this notice. There is no solicitation, specifications or drawings available at this time. Military Sealift Command has a requirement for the USNS ZEUS (T-ARC 7) for a replacement Mission Radar System and spare parts to be provided on or about 10 December, 2012. Procurement items are as follows: 1. Low Emission, Mission Radar System Including Processing Unit, Mating Connectors and Equipment Manuals. One requirement for the Radar System is that the detection range of the radar cannot exceed 25nm. Additional requirements include the following necessary elements: 1. Frequency Modulated Continuous Radar. 2. Must be undetectable and fully operational in during radar silence conditions. 3. Compact System based on a 1 Watt Transceiver. 4. Range performance equal to navigation - class pulse radars operating at 10 - 20 kW Peak Power. 5. Cannot be detected by electronic surveillance equipment or radar warning receivers at ranges greater than a few kilometers. 6. Range of Target detected is determined from the instantaneous frequency difference between the transmitted and received signals. 7. Provides for improved detection performance in sea clutter over a pulse radar. 8. Transmitted power is variable from 1mW to 1W. 9. Provides two X Band frequencies. 10. Instrumented Range of system is operator selectable for either 6, 12 or 24 NMI maximum range. 11. High Resolution to 3m. 12. Compatible with an existing Furuno Model 23" Color Monitor MU231 Display and 19" VGA JH19T14 STD Display. 13. Sector blanking from 0 to 360 degrees in 0.1 deg increments (software controlled). 2. Spare PC Processor Assembly -1 3. 24 VDC Power Supply -1 Estimated issue date of this solicitation is on/about 19 July 2012. After issuance, the solicitation may be obtained thru Federal Business Opportunity (FEDBIZOPS) website or the MSC 1102 Website. Any firms that believe they can meet these requirements should respond to this notice as described below. Indicate if your company is a large or small business, and if a small business, indicate if you fall within any of the further classifications (Hubzone, SDVOSB, WOSB, etc.). The Government will determine whether a set-aside acquisition in lieu of full and open competition is in the Government's best interest. The appropriate NAICS Code is 334511. It is requested that interested businesses submit to the contracting office a brief capabilities package demonstrating ability to provide the requested work items. This document shall also address the following: Company Profile to include number of employees, office location(s), DUNS number, CAGE Code and a statement regarding small business designation and status. Submission of a capabilities statement is not a prerequisite to any potential future offerings, but participation will assist the Government in tailoring requirements to be consistent with industry. This is a market research tool used to determine the availability and adequacy of potential small business sources prior to issuance of an award. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. Please provide a response demonstrating your firm's experience in providing these parts. RESPONSES ARE DUE on Friday, 16 July, 2012 by 2:00 PM, Eastern Standard Time.
