Description
The project consists of expanding the existing wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) to handle a capacity of one million gallons per day, including the construction of a new 250 thousand gallon (KG) aerobic digester, and the conversion of the existing aerobic digester into a sequencing batch reactor (SBR). A new aerobic digester will also be constructed to support all SBRs, and will include new railings, larger blowers, plumbing and electronic control systems. The project includes an upgrade to a larger transformer and emergency generator to support electrical requirements. Upgrades will be made to the grit and grease collection device and a lift station upstream of the grit and grease device will be installed. A concrete channel between lift station and grit and grease device will be constructed. Fill will be placed in a flume channel and grease pit to raise them to ground level, and the length of the auger monster will be shortened. The existing equipment chamber will be filled with soil and covered with reinforced concrete to raise equipment to ground level. Actuators on influent, air supply, and decanter valves will be replaced. The project site will be restored to predevelopment conditions, including site hydrology, in accordance with the Energy Independence and Security Act, Section 438.
