Description
The Seattle District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has a requirement for Seahurst Park Restoration consisting of removing approximately 1,800 LF of seawall and removing riprap and 3 buried gabion structures from the shoreline. It also includes beach restoration, topographic restoration, and revegetation. A drift sill is included in order to reduce long-term maintenance of the restored beach to the south. The design creates a restored North Creek mouth, with replacement of a small existing culvert under the pathway/emergency access with a larger culvert, removal and relocation of the existing fish ladder, and restoration of freshwater and sediment inputs from North Creek to the restored beach. The design also establishes a freshwater wetland of a small scale. Nearshore work window is from 15 July to 15 February (majority of project will be completed in the nearshore).
