Description
The United States Army Contracting Command - Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG), on behalf of Project Manager, Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS), is soliciting, on a competitive basis, an acquisition for Mid-Tier Networking Vehicular Radio (MNVR). MNVR will provide capability that addresses the Army's need for a Mid-Tier Wideband Networking (MWN) capability. The MWN capability provides an extension of data services from the upper tactical network at brigade and battalion to the lower tactical network at company and platoon echelon platforms. ACC-APG intends to award a two (2) year, Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contract for MNVR in a full and open competitive environment using FAR Part 15 procedures to satisfy the MWN capability requirements. The proposed acquisition is intended to result in an IDIQ contract to a single source. The maximum number of radio sets to be procured under the proposed contract is 2,500. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this requirement is 334220, Radio and Television Broadcasting and Wireless Communications Equipment Manufacturing. This does not constitute as a RFP. The RFP and will be released on the Army's Single Face to Industry (ASFI) on or about 28 August2012. The official release of the RFP will be posted on the internet at the Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) web site located at the following address: https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi/ No additional information regarding this procurement will be available prior to the release of the RFP. This synopsis is provided for informational purposes and is not to be considered a Request For Proposal; however, all responsible sources may submit a proposal once a formal solicitation is issued, which shall be considered by the agency. Responses to this announcement are not proposals and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. This is not a guarantee of a future RFP or an award. This notice should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the U.S. Government. Any information provided to the Government in response to this notice will become ACC-APG property and will not be returned.
