- DRAFT SOW for Flooring Replacement Throughout Bldg 5 and 17, and Research A.Install approximately 15,355 sq. ft. Centiva wood look (or the equivalent ) 4"x36" plank vinyl flooring provided by the contractor, on the ground floor hallways of Primary Care, Spec Med, the Emer. Dept., and the CLC 2 & 3 hallways of Bldg. 5. The vinyl flooring must be a heterogeneous PVC with at least a 3 mm gauge thickness. It must have a class 1 CRF flammability rating greater than 0.45. The flooring must pass ASTM and ADA guidelines for Slip Resistance. The vinyl planks must be classified as commercial flooring with at least a 20 year limited wear warranty. It must be rated for excellent abrasion, chemical resistance, and residual indentation. VA interior designer will approve the colors and the vinyl flooring mfg. The installers will provide a layout of where the borders will run throughout the hallways. B.Install approximately 10,600 sq. ft. of Teknoflor wood look (or the equivalent) sheet vinyl flooring in the exam rooms in Primary Care, Spec Med., ER, and the Lab Conference Room in Bldg 5 and 2 offices and Conference Room in the Research Bldg. The sheet vinyl must be at least 2.3 mm overall gauge with 5.5 lbs. per sq. inch. The wear layer must be rated Type 1 per ASTM F1301 with an embossed clear PVC wear layer of at least 20 mil. The flammability rating will be NFPA class 1 with greater than.45watts /cm2. The flooring must be in compliance with ADA and ASTM slip resistance guidelines. The flooring will have properties resistance to bacteria and fungi activity. It will also comply with resistance to chemicals and solvents, not requiring waxing or buffing with normal usage. The solid vinyl flooring will have a wear warranty of at least 10 years, reinforced with fiberglass for perfect dimensional stability. VA interior designer will approve the color and flooring mfg. C.Install approximately 380 sq. yds. of Lee's modular commercial grade carpet tile in the Engineering offices in Bldg 17 provided by the contractor. The tile must have a tufted weight of at least 20 oz/sq. yd. and be constructed with Antron Legacy nylon in a solution dyed method for superior performance with permanent stain resistance per GSA requirements. The backing of the carpet tile should be a fiberglass reinforced thermoplastic composite. VA interior designer will approve the color and flooring mfg. D. The installers will move all the furnishings in and out of the designated areas each night after 5:00 pm, making the areas ready for occupancy the next day by 7:00 am. The contractor will provide the following: 1.Provide sheet vinyl, plank vinyl, carpet tile and manufacturer's low VOC adhesive to VA specifications. VA interior designer will provide colors and mfg 2.Remove and dispose of existing carpet 3.Install new flooring to manufacturers specifications to include any necessary floor prep 4.Installation will be after hours at the convenience of VA 5.Contractor will remove the furnishings in each room for the installations after 5:00 P.M. and move the furnishings back in to be ready for business the next day by 7:00 A.M. 6.Contractor will maintain walkways where required and remove debris each night, keeping dust to a minimum. They will provide a dumpster to be parked on VA grounds at a designated parking area. 7.Contractor will provide and install 4" vinyl base. VA will specify the color of the base. 8.The contractor is responsible for ensuring the quality of all work performed, subject to terms of "warranty of construction" FAR clause 52.246-21. 9.Installers will be trained on the specified flooring, and will be able to provide references. 10.Contractor will deliver flooring and adhesives in original wrappings and packages clearly labeled with manufacturer's name, brand size, dye lot # and related information. 11.The flooring in the hallways will have a 12" border running the length of the hallway on each side, with a different color of approximately 6' down the center of the hallway creating a border for visual interest. Installers will provide the COTR a layout plan showing where the seams and cuts will be.
