Description
Lab Scale Bi-component Fiber Melt Extrusion Base Unit: Complete unit ready to run equipped with the following: Two (2) melt extruders, Extruder units must have drive mechanisms, Variable speed D.C. electric motor driven, Extruder barrel pressure rating of 7,500 psi (500 bar), Two (2) - single screw extruders, Screw size 5/8" diameter - 24:1 l/d (16mm), Two (2) - pack pressure gauges, Can deliver polymer pressure of 2500 psi (166 bar), Temperature capability of up to 3100C with temperature control of < 3.50C, Electrically heated, five (5) zones: two (2) per extruder; one (1) for spinneret, Pack block - 17-4 ph stainless steel (ss), Torque limitation on extruder screw, Throughput range: 0.05 to 2.0 lb / hour for each extruder, Pressure control of extruder screw speed 5% via KBIC dc motor controller, One (1) complete control package in satellite control box, Quantity of unused polymer in each system less than 10 cc. Spin Pack set or Spinneret - Supplied with Bi-component Extruder One (1) spin pack set containing support plate and spinneret (17-4 ph ss) or one (1) spinneret having 19 round holes with each having 0.5mm diameter shaped holes, All fasteners, adapters, and components required for installation, operation, and disassembly of the spin pack set or spinneret should be included, All component parts to make the following fiber cross sections: homo-filament, side-by-side, sheath/core, 16 segment pie, 36 islands-in-the-sea, Screen sandwich type filters and seals or equivalent for 25 builds Options & Accessories - The machine needs to run FOY yarn, meltblown webs, spunbond webs, metal core, and monofilaments with the optional equipment as listed in the Bi-component Melt Extruder Document.
