Description
W81K00-12-P-M009 The Southern Region Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to Best Theratronics LTD, for Raycell MK2 X-Ray Blood Irradiator equipment to be used in The Department of Pathology and Area Laboratory Services. The Government intends to award on or about 31July 2012, the NAICS code for this procurement is 334517 and the standard size is 500 Employees. Salient Characteristics essential to the Government X-Ray Source: 160kV, 60-80 keV average, 4 KW per tube (2 tubes) Dose Uniformity: 2500 to 4300 cGy (1.72:1) Electronic timer: Adjustable in tenths of minutes 45 radiation coverage/unit Can irradiate up to 6-8, 300 mL bags / products simultaneously / canister Temperature Range: 15 to 35 C Humidity Range not to exceed 70% non-condensing at 35 C ambient temperature Barometic Pressure of 523 to 800 mmHg Electrical: 300 V Rating, 190-254 VAC; 60 Hz Must have Safety feature that prevents x-ray leakage when lid of canister is not secured Must have Safety feature that prevents x-ray leakage if door is opened during irradiation cycle Must have Safety feature that prevents x-ray leakage with interruption or interaction with safety interlock Must provide a minimum dose of 1500 cGy at any point in the blood products being irradiated Must provide a minimum dose of 2500 cGy delivered to the central portion of the container Must provide a central dose rate of 5100 cGy/min ( 5%) This notice is neither a request for quotes nor solicitation of offers; however all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the agency.
