THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. This is a pre-solicitation notice only. The purpose of this notice is to announce that the Dept. of Veterans Affairs (VA), Robert J Dole VA Medical Center, Community Based Health Care for Homeless Veterans program, has a requirement to provide homeless veterans with Community Residential Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services in the Wichita KS commute area. The contractor/s should be able to furnish care and psychosocial services to beneficiaries suffering from serious mental illness, including veterans who are homeless, in community-based treatment facilities offering a safe and secure environment that supports their rehabilitation goals. Therapeutic and rehabilitative services will be required, but detoxification or other hospital level treatment will not be furnished - those services will be provided by the VA at VA facilities located in the Wichita KS area. Veterans may have specific mental health or substance abuse issues and some may also be mobility impaired. It is understood that the veterans to be cared for will require care and services above the level of room and board. A solicitation shall be issued on or about July 30, 2012 with proposals due no later than August 15, 2012 at 4:00pm Central Daylight Time. All interested parties must respond to that solicitation. A response to this notice is not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. Telephonic responses will not be entertained.
