Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs Mid Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6) intends to negotiate sole source commercial item procurement with DRS Veteran Enterprises, a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) company to provide emergency tree removal service caused by severe weather, high wind and rain storm at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center, Beckley, WV. The result of the storm caused trees to fall down blocking the hospital main entry roads, the emergency room road, in addition to down trees throughout the VA facility parking areas. DRS Veteran Enterprises are located within the city of Beckley, WV, county of Fayetteville. The scope of service involves remove of all down trees from the hospital main entry and exit areas, emergency room, and all parking areas as required restoring normal operation while sustaining safety. DRS shall provide all labor, personnel, supplies and equipment needed to complete this service requirement. This is a onetime service requirement; all service shall be completed within 2 weeks from start to finish ending July 25, 2012. The principle duties require all on-site services be performed by DRS employees donning safety gear at all times. This service includes processing for recycle all tree/wood collections at no additional cost. All services are to be performed in accordance with standard industry practices and quality control measures. This proposed procurement is for supplies or services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. The applicable NAICS Code is 561210 / Facilities Support Servicess / size standard $35.5 Mil. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than Noon, July 26, 2012 local time. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
