- Solicitation# LCNLS12R0085 The contractor shall design, build, test and supply source and executable code for an Apple Inc. iOS application program which includes the following functionality: 1. User can navigate and play any protected or unprotected NLS/BPH (Z39.86:2002) audio Digital Talking Books (DTBs) available on the application's virtual ‘bookshelf'. 2. User can browse the catalog of Digital Talking Books and Magazines (DTB) available for Internet download from NLS/BPH. 3. Application shall authenticate, over the Internet, user supplied credentials with NLS/BPH servers to permit access to materials only to authorized users. 4. Encryption/Decryption key generation, exchange and storage complying with the DAISY PDTB2 standard. 5. User can download via the Internet and locally store in a virtual bookshelf, the DTB uncompressed from the archive file (zip). 6. User can side-load and off-load DTBs from the virtual bookshelf through the Apple iTunes program running on a connected computer or through iCloud. 7. User can review, delete and organize DTBs in the application's virtual bookshelf. The Government will provide the contractor with: 1. Application Programmer Interface documentation for accessing the NLS/BPH catalog, DTB download server and for PDTB2 key exchange. 2. Object code library for the decoding of AMR-WB+ compressed audio (as used to compress audio files used in Z39.86:2002 NLS/BPH DTBs). 3. Test DTBs. The contractor shall deliver an Xcode project containing all source code required to build the application. The contractor shall provide services for the maintenance of the application program, including bug fixes, porting to new iOS versions and for enhancements. The program developed shall operate on all models of iPhone, iPod-Touch and iPad using iOS 4.0 and later. The period of performance for the base period of this contract is one year. The period of performance may be extended for up to three option years beyond the base contract.
