Description
Federal Business Opportunities Information Date: 2012 July 24 SOLICITATION NO. W9128F-12-B-0042 On or about 07 August 2012, this office will issue Invitations for Bid for construction of the R562 Levee Rehab, Missouri River, NE. The solicitation will close on or about 06 September 2012. This solicitation is RESTRICTED AND SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION Site Visit Information will be issued with the advertised solicitation documents. DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications to the site visit personnel listed above. See 'Obtaining Solicitation Documents' below. _______________________________________________________________________________ Project Description: (Approx. quantities) The repairs at Missouri River Levee System Unit R562 consist of; repairing rutting of the levee crest, repairing erosion along the riverside and landside levee toes, increasing the width of the existing seepage berm from 100' to 150' for approximately 8,920', reconstructing 3 access ramps, extending 2 drainage structures through the new seepage berm, filling in and capping several scour holes, installing 17 concrete manholes and 50' steel pipe extensions from existing relief wells, extending 4 piezometers, installing a coarse sand toe trench along the new seepage berm, constructing a new wetland drainage swale along the new seepage berm, repairing a damaged slide gate and gate structure, removing and replacing levee for 200 feet at the right abutment of the gate structure and increasing the fill along the steel sheet pile to prevent seepage through the levee and finally seeding and mulching the riverside and landside levee slopes for 9.1 miles. The project will also consist of an option of installing six 300' long earthen groins on the riverside of the levee. The project will require stripping 80,000 cys of topsoil, 65,000 cys of impervious fill, 230,000 cys of previous fill, 77,000 cys of topsoil, 600 tons of gravel surfacing, 600 tons of Riprap, 230 tons of bedding, 250 tons of bedding, and seed and mulch approximately 120 acres. The estimated construction cost of this project is between$5,000,000 and $7,500,000. ______________________________________________________________________________ The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 180 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety.
