Description

This is a pre-solicitation notice. The general scope of this project consists of building an approximately 5000 square foot addition onto the existing MRI wing of the "D" Zone of Level 1 in Building 1 at the George Whalen VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. This project will be built partially by the VA's in-house construction crew also known as P&H (i.e. Purchase and Hire). P&H will build the footings/foundation/slab and the steel structure. The chosen contractor is to provide all materials and labor to build all remaining aspects, except the portion to be built by P&H, of a new addition to accept a second MRI machine according to the drawings, specifications and SOW which will be addressed in the solicitation. Contractor to furnish labor and materials as required in drawings and specifications. All work will be coordinated through Engineering Services. Davis-Bacon wage rates apply. GENERAL: All design and work will conform to the current edition of the VA Master Specifications and VA Design Standards as published at the following site: www.cfm.va.gov, code of Colorado Regulations, EPA, ASHRAE, IBC 2003, NFPA and NEC building code and standards. Solicitation will be issued on or about August 20, 2012, on fbo.gov.
