The ADCP must meet the following requirements: USGS scientists in the Pacific Coastal and Marine Program perform studies of bottom sediment transport. A significant part of this work requires the accurate and proper sampling of wave and current data in a wide variety of environmental settings. To achieve this goal, the USGS ? PCMSC uses acoustic doppler current profilers (ADCP) in all of its field studies. Upcoming projects will require an instrument capable of making extremely highly accurate measurements at a high data rate for studies of turbulence in the coastal ocean. In order to make these measurements of turbulence using an ADCP the instrument must be configured with four acoustic beams in an orthogonal, or ?Janus? arrangement, with a 5th beam oriented vertically. The instrument must also be able to provide a single-ping accuracy of 13cm/s or less while collecting data in 25cm vertical bins at a rate of 1Hz or better. In addition, the instrument must be able to be upgraded to provide higher resolution pulse-coherent measurements, thus providing single ping accuracies up to 1cm/s with 7cm vertical bins at a 1Hz or better rate. The instrument must also be able to interleave averaged ensemble measurements with raw, high-frequency burst wave measurements. The instrument must be compatible with compatible with current existing software., 1, EA; LI 002, 5 Meter Test Cable Connector Straight, 1, EA; LI 003, Water Pulse-Pulse Coherent Mode, 1, EA; LI 004, High Accuracy Bottom Tracking, Accuracy +/-0.4%, 1, EA; LI 005, Sentinel V 1080Whrs External Battery Case, 200m depth-rated, with Cable and (2) battery packs, 1, EA; LI 006, Sentinel V External Batter Case T Cable, 1, EA; Solicitation and Buy Attachments ***Question Submission: Interested offerors must submit any questions concerning the solicitation at the earliest time possible to enable the Buyer to respond.
