- 1. Product Service Code: 83 - Textiles/Leather/Furs/Alpparel/Shoes/Tents/Flags 2. NAICS Code: 313312 3. Solicitation Umber: P12PS11670 4. Notice Type: Combined Synpsis/Solicitation 5. Synopsis: This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.603, Streamlined solicitation for commercial items as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. 6. This is a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect thourgh FederalAcquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-38. 7. This action is being set aside for 100% small business participation. 8. BID SCHEDULE/DELIVERY SCHEDULE Base Contract Work: Provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, supervision and facilities to stasblize one of the sixteen installed tapestry panels in Mr. Vanderbilt's bedroom. Examine all wall coverings to evaluate the representative value of this work to inform planned future treatment of the remaining panels and make recommendations for ukse of this work as a model for conserving and designing a conservation mounting system for the remaining panels, including reports and incidental related work in the collection of the Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site in Hyde Park, NY. The Base Contract work includes 130 calendar days from award for completion of all work. There are three options included in the solicitation. Option 1 includes all labor, materials, tooks, equipment, transportation, suppervision for surface cleaning, stablization of only the most critical splits or holes and replacement of the damaging handing system with a conservation systems on two identified tapestries. The work also includes removal and replacement of the current multiple-ring handing system using conservationmaterials and techniques, and repalcement of hardware, as necessary. Option 1 may be exercised at the time of award or within 60 calendar days after award of the contract. If Option 1 is exercised by the contracting officer, the contract completion date will be extended 60 calendar days. SITE VISIT: Potential bidders are encouraged to visit Hyde Park to view the tapestries prior to submitting their bids. A visit has been scheduled on Wednesday August 8, 2012 at 9:30am. Meet at the Vanderbilt Pavilion located next to the visitor parking lot. All tapestries currently on exhibit will be viewed, (Mr. Vanderbilt's installed panels and 3 hanging panels). The group will then be able to visit the collection storage facility to view the remaining 4 hanging panels. That building is located two miles south, near the Home of FDR, and directions will be provided. 14.
