FBO ANNOUNCEMENT: INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE SUBJECT: Procurement of TurboCorr Digital Autocorrelator and 12 Additional High Speed Channels NOTICE NUMBER: NB654020-12-05354 RESPONSE DATE: August 15, 2012 2:00 PM EST via FBO. CONTACT POINTS: Dana Rae Graham, 301-975-3978, Cheryl Rice, Contract Officer, 301-975-3696 DESCRIPTION: ***The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with BROOKHAVEN INSTURMENTS CORPORATION for the procurement of a TurboCorr Autocorrelator.*** *** The BROOKHAVEN INSTRUMENTS CORPORATION TurboCorr is an upgrade to extensively used NIST legacy hardware. The Polymers Division has three NIST Legacy instruments that must be compatible with the acquisition of a new Digital Autocorrelator: BROOKHAVEN INSTRUMENTS CORPORATION 9000AT [S/N 2783625, S/N4001061, and S/N2783862]. Based upon NIST Legacy instruments, the BROOKHAVEN INSTRUMENTS CORPORATION TurboCorr is the only commercially available product that meets the needs of the requirement. BROOKHAVEN INSTRUMENTS CORPORATION is the sole-source provider of the TurboCorr Digital Autocorrelator.*** ***Delivery is 4-6 weeks ARO, FOB Destination to NIST, Gaithersburg, MD.*** ***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516 Analytical laboratory Instrument Manufacturing and the NAICS Small Business Size Standard is 500 Employees.*** ***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by August 15, 2012 2:00 PM EST via FBO.*** A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
