Description

This is NOT a solicitation announcement. This is a request for information only. The purpose of this sources sought synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources relative to NAICS code 333921 (size standard of 500 employees). Responses to this request for information synopsis will be used by the government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. Responses to this sources sought shall NEITHER constitute responses to solicitation which is not currently available NOR a request to be added to a prospective bidders list to receive a copy of the solicitation. The decision to solicit for a contract shall be solely the Government's discretion. The Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC) is seeking information on potential sources to provide replacement of elevator drive for 32 elevators (Service and Passenger) in building 100 and replacement of 3 elevators in another building located at 2002 Holcombe Boulevard, Houston, Texas 77030. The replacement drives must use the SCR technology and must be compatible with Remote Elevator Monitoring (REM). All elevators in building 100 are manufactured by Otis. All sources are advised of the Government's requirement on the limitations on subcontracting the performance of the work called for to other tiers of subcontractors. Sources are required to perform certain percentages of the contract value with their own personnel should the Government decide to solicit for a contract for this work. The source must be an authorized factory trained service provider for the above equipment and must provide evidences of having access to OEM parts and materials replacement. Sources interested in this notice must submit the following information in writing: 1.Company name, address, point of contact, DUNS No. registered in Central Contractor Registration (www.ccr.gov), cage code, size of business pursuant to North American industrial classification system (NAICS) 333921. Acceptable evidences shall include but not limited to company's parent or field offices with physical addresses in Houston, TX. 3.GSA contract: if yes, provide the following information: GSA contract No.: ____________________ Expiration Date: _____________________ GSA schedule number applicable to the service specified in this notice: _________________ Geographic Coverage: ___________________ 4.Submit evidences for being authorized factory trained service provider for the above equipment and evidences of having sufficient number of experienced, factor- trained or certified mechanics to perform the work on the equipment specified in this notice. 5.Submit evidences of having capability to obtain OEM parts and materials replacement for the equipment specified in this notice. 6.List of customers (Names, primary points of contact, and phone number/email addresses) with whom the source has had or currently has contracts for providing substantially similar services. This is not a request for proposals or request for quotes and in no way obligates the government to award any contract. Responses to this notice shall be in writing by e-mail addressed to Namphuong.nguyen@va.gov. All responses must be received in writing no later than 1:00 PM, local time on August 14, 2012. Fax or telephone responses will not be accepted. It is the responsibility of sources that decide to send the responses to make sure that the designated office receives their information. Please be advised that the designated office can receive the following electronic file format: Microsoft Word 2007, and PDF. Please also be advised that the designated office's email cannot receive any attachments exceeding 5MB. It is the responsibility of the interested sources to ensure the designated office to receive the complete files by either reducing the file size or breaking it down into smaller attachments. Sources responding to this announcement, which fail to provide all of the required information specified under 1 through 5, cannot be used to help the government make the acquisition decisions, which is the intent of this synopsis. This notice is to help the VA medical center in determining potential sources only. No solicitation is currently available. All sources responding to this request for information notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request to be considered for a contract award or to be added to prospective bidders list to receive a copy of the solicitation.
