- Description
- The USDA/ARS (Agricultural Research Service), Western Business Service Center (WBSC) intends to award a sole source GSA task order, IAW FAR 6.302-1 (Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements), to Scheider Electric for electrical services to include; 1) remove existing Square D type SE circuit breakers and retrofill with Masterpact NW circuit breaker into the existing switchboard section 2) supply and install Transfer Control PLC into the existing switchboard 3) supply one new custom Square D QED with one 3000 amp Square D type NW circuit breaker and custom connect to the existing switchboard section 4) develop recommended settings for the new NW breakers and document the coordination achieved with time current curves. An arc flash analysis will be completed and arc flash labels will be applied to the new QED switchboard 5) perform required testing on new equipment, and provide a test report at project completion 6) supply and install all necessary components to connect new QED section as well as new breaker to the existing system. This includes: new copper bus, front door, bus supports, and mounting plate. Sole sourcing of this acquisition is necessary to protect warranty provisions for the operation and maintenance of Square D manufactured electrical systems within this particular facility (Square D is now owned and operated by Schneider Electric). A task order will be issued under GSA Contract GS-07F-9462G. This project is part of several work efforts related to mechanical/electrical updates to Bldg. 003, of the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC) located in Beltsville, MD.
