Description
RFI for Diesel pump and E-85 tank This Request for Information (RFI) seeks information from the private sector that may be used to develop a solicitation for fueling operations for the U. S. Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, MD. Parties are requested to submit information about fueling operations that meet the requirements listed below. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Administrative Services Division operates a fueling system at its Gaithersburg, Maryland facility. The fueling system needs to be upgraded and improved. NIST is seeking a company that can complete the tasks required in a timely manner and follow all requirements set forth by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The tasks required are:  Move the existing curb forward approximately ten feet to construct a new fuel area. The new area will incorporate the access covers to the underground storage tank that is located under the new fuel area.  Replace the current diesel pump with a new diesel pump.  Install protective devices for new pump.  Remove and dispose of current concrete pad. Replace with clean soil and seed for grass.  Remove current above ground tank for E-85 that holds 1,000 gallons and replace it with a 2,000 or 2,500 gallon tank that will fit on current concrete pad. Possibly use 1,000 gallon tank as trade-in for larger tank.  When new tank is installed, will need to make any changes necessary to allow pump to use proper amount of E-85 and not leave too much in tank.  Provide a warrantee for all parts, and services for one year to include an option for 4 additional years.  Provide a temporary fueling station to be used during construction. Informational responses to this RFI must be submitted to the following address no later than 12pm Eastern Standard Time, August 15, 2012. ATTN: Andrea Elliott-Dixon, NIST, 100 Bureau Dr. Mailstop 1640, Bldg. 301/ room 125, Gaithersburg, MD 20899-1920. NOTE: No solicitation is available, and quotations/proposals are not being solicited at this time.
