- Description
- 36.The current language in the prospectus reads that all cabins at Canyon will be removed and replaced with lodges. Some of these cabins are currently used to house employees at Canyon. Is the plan to remove these units as well, or will some cabins remain to fill this need. The Service assumes the Concessioner will remove all cabins in Loops A and C; however, 2 8-plex cabins (E-1 and D-1) will remain for use as employee housing. 37.Page 19 in the Business Opportunity lists "Other Commercial Service Providers" in Yellowstone and indicates there is one shuttle service concessionaire. There does not appear to be a shuttle operating in Yellowstone at this time. Is this contract in default, and if so, is there an opportunity to provide this service now, either by assignment from the existing operator or under a new agreement with NPS? Otherwise, when is the next cycle for this service? Any information, such as the current agreement, most recent prospectus or other NPS requirements, would be helpful if there's an opportunity to launch such a service this year (even on a provisional basis) -- assuming this is a NPS priority. Page 19 refers to services provided under Commercial Use Authorizations (CUA) and not concession contracts. There is one CUA that specifically mentions shuttle service. This CUA is held by Back Country Sports and allows for day hiking, shuttle services and transportation in the Park. This company primarily provides shuttle service to trail heads. This CUA holder does operate but is not required to follow any particular schedule or routes.
