- Description
- PWS Updated 10 Aug 2012 to reflect security requirement clarification. The Government received the following question regarding this notice: In section 8.6 of the PWS the Government identifies certain Security requirements. " SECURITY: Access to sensitive compartmented information (SCI) facilities and material shall be required. For all positions, a current Top Secret (TS) is required and the personnel must be eligible for a Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance. The contractor shall meet all requirements for having a Secret facility IAW DoD 5220.22-R Paragraph 2-301. No Top Secret information shall be discussed/stored/processed at the contractor's facility." Question. Our understanding of the work IAW the PWS is that all work, discussions, and program information will be performed on Government sites and that the requirement for a "Secret facility IAW DoD 5220.22-R Paragraph 2-301" is an additional requirement that is not necessary for this effort. Very respectfully, will the Government remove this requirement from the PWS? And consequently, modify the last sentence to indicate that no classified information shall be discussed/stored/processed at the contractor's facility? The Government reviewed the regulatory reference and found that it had been improperly cited. At this time, the Government plans for all work to be done in government facilities. Therefore, the contractor will not have to have a Secret facility to perform their work. However, if they have a Secret (or higher) Facility Clearance (FCL), they should identify it as such. Based on the question, we agree that the PWS statements: "The contractor shall meet all requirements for having a Secret facility IAW DoD 5220.22-R Paragraph 2-301. No Top Secret information shall be discussed/stored/processed at the contractor's facility." can be removed and changed to read "The contractor shall identify the level of their facility clearance IAW DoD 5220.22-M, Chapter 2. No classified information shall be discussed, stored, or processed at the contractor's facility." An updated PWS dated 10 August 2012 has been uploaded to reflect this change.
