- The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to award on a sole-source basis a purchase order to Colt Defense LLC, 547 New Park Avenue, West Hartford, Connecticut 06110-1336 under RFQ#0271127847. Colt Defense LLC will provide commercial, "off-the-shelf" miscellaneous weapon parts compatible with Colt weapons currently used by the FBI. Recent market research efforts, to include consulting with fellow law enforcement agencies, resulted in the determination that the FBI's requirement for the referenced weapon parts can only be provided by Colt Defense LLC. In addition, continued use of Colt weapon parts ensures the integrity of the warranty provided by Colt Defense LLC at the time of weapon purchase. This sole source acquisition meets the conditions of FAR 6.302-1 and is not a request for competitive quotes; however, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements may submit a capability statement no later than August 28, 2012, at 2:00 PM (EST) to Point of Contact (POC) Jennifer R. Unger, Contracting Officer, Federal Bureau of Investigation, 170 Marcel Drive, Winchester, VA 22602 or Jennifer.Unger@ic.fbi.gov with reference to RFQ-0271127847. Information received as a result of this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement and will be at the sole discretion of the Contracting Officer. The North American Industry Classification System code is 332994 with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees. The awardee shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration Database at (www.ccr.gov). The anticipated award date is on or before September 7, 2012. The notice will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) Website (www.fedbizopps.gov).
