- Description
- Responses to two questions asked by contractors. 1) What are the sizes of these tanks? Answer: It's stated in paragraph 1 of the Statement of Work as (1ea) 10,000 gallon tank and (1ea) 15,000 gallon tank. 2) Is foam fill for the UST's an acceptable method for permanent closure. Answer: While foam is an acceptable method of filling in place and Florida does allow it, these tanks are in parking lot areas and have been in the ground for many years. Eglin can't afford to chance given our high water table and the tie down straps on the tanks being corroded enough to allow the foam filled tank to rise to the surface. Slurry prevents that potential.
