- SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS (not a Solicitation) The Department of Veterans Affairs, VHA, NCO19 Rocky Mountain Acquisition Center is seeking potential sources that are capable of providing one each exacta-mix 2400 compounding system with back-up system or equal to include maintenance, upgrades and support of hardware and software for lease to the VA Medical Center Salt Lake City, UT. Firms responding shall specify that their products meet the specifications provided below and provide detailed product information to show clear technical compliance. Information about the firm's standard lease process is also requested. Additionally, lease history including recent commercial companies leasing compounding equipment should be included. This requirement is to lease a compounder. The required specifications for items must meet the draft list of salient characteristics below. All interested firms shall submit a response demonstrating their capabilities to provide the requested equipment for lease to the VAMC. As stipulated in FAR 15.201, responses to this notice are not considered offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. The decision to solicit for a contract shall be solely with the Government discretion. Firms responding should indicate whether they are, or are not, a small business, a socially and economically disadvantaged business, veteran owned small business/service disabled veteran owned small business or a woman owned business. The general definition of a small business is one that is independently owned and operated, is not dominated in the field of operation in which it is proposing on Veterans Administration contracts and with its affiliates; and the number of employees is not to exceed 500. NAICS code to be used for this acquisition is 339112. The Government reserves the right to consider a small business set-aside based upon responses hereto for any subsequent acquisition. Respondents are further requested to indicate their status as a foreign-owned/foreign-controlled firm and any contemplated use of foreign national employees on this effort. Any information submitted by respondents to this sources sought synopsis is voluntary. This sources sought notice is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government reimburse any costs associated with the submission of information in response to this notice. Respondents will not individually be notified of the results of any Government assessments. The Government's evaluation of the capability statements received will factor into whether any forthcoming solicitation will be conducted as a full and open competition or as a set-aside for small businesses, or any particular small business designation (e.g. SDVOSB, HUB Zone, 8(a), WOSB, VOSB, etc). Capabilities packages: all interested firms shall submit a capabilities package that explicitly demonstrates company capabilities-indicating examples of commercial lease and maintenance agreement specifications related to this effort. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS: The container bag must be able to: Stand temperature fluctuations Compatible with medications with same capability as glass Ensure the impact of being dropped Be able to handle overfill without rupture To be used to store medications for prolonged periods of time The compounder/preparation device must be able to: Be quick to combine medications Be accurate in mixing medications Have more than one way of measuring the medications being mixed to account for correct medication delivery Capable of various combinations of medications mixing, flexibility, capacity Incorporate work flow and compliance needs already in place at medical center Contractor shall provide in-service training that includes literature and training materials
