The Department of Veterans Affairs, James J Peters VAMC is currently conducting a market survey for qualified firms capable of providing a Laryngo Phayngoscope Retractor. Vendor will be responsible for: 1) Emergency service labor and travel coverage 2) Parts coverage The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) is 339112. Responses to this notice must be submitting in writing (email or fax) and must be received not later than AUGUST 20, 2012 at 10 am. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. ***This procurement will be a 100% set-aside for small business.*** The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources for this procurement relative to NAICS 811310. Qualified offerors shall be experienced in the sale of surgical instruments. Responses to this notice will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. BACKGROUND: The FK Retractor is a necessary adjunct to the flexible tension arm stand and hinge arm supports in the performance of TORS. It allows adequate exposure of the entire oral cavity, hypopharynx and larynx. 2. OBJECTIVES: To start a transoral robotic surgery (TORS) and robotic assisted micro-surgery program at the JJPVAMC. similar to our microvascular program. We hope to attract patients from around the VISN and country who are not equipped for these procedures. TORS cannot be performed without this product or the flexible tension arm. 3. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: 7/1/12 through 7/1/18 4. PLACE OF PERFORMANCE: James J. Peters VAMC. 130 West Kingsbridge Road Bronx, NY 10468. Within the Operative Care Center.
